How to Order Prescription and Non-Prescription Products

This guide explains every stage of placing an order with Canadian pharmacy Spot. Follow the numbered actions for prescription medicines and non‑prescription health products. If anything is unclear, contact the pharmacy team at +1 213 5502 323 or support@canadianpharmacyspot.com. Your prescriber can fax prescriptions directly to the pharmacy at +1 403 708 0374.

Prescription Medicines

  1. Search and Select. Enter the drug name in the site search bar or browse the A‑Z index. Choose the strength, form, and quantity that match your prescription, then select Add to Cart.
  2. Create or Access Your Account. At checkout the system prompts you to sign in or open a new account. New customers provide a valid email, a password, and a shipping address. A verification message confirms enrolment.
  3. Secure Payment. Choose from Visa, Mastercard, Interac e‑Transfer, or certified cheque. Credit‑card details transmit through an encrypted gateway. No card data is stored on our servers.
  4. Upload or Send Your Prescription. Upload or Send Your Prescription. After the cart, the secure document portal appears. A clear scan or photo may be uploaded for limited preliminary purposes, such as allowing the pharmacy team to identify the prescription or check product availability, but a patient-uploaded image cannot by itself be used to fill or dispense the prescription. The pharmacy must receive the prescription through an acceptable method of transmission before the pharmacist can complete the required assessment. This may include an original written prescription presented to the pharmacy, a prescription faxed directly by the prescriber, or another authorized method of electronic transmission. If your prescriber is using fax, ask the prescriber’s office to send the prescription directly to +1 403 708 0374. For questions about an order or prescription submission, email orders@canadianpharmacyspot.com.
  5. Complete the Health Profile. Fill in the mandatory form listing current medicines, chronic conditions, and allergies. Accurate data prevents harmful interactions and is reviewed before dispensing.
  6. Order Confirmation. An email summarises item names, quantities, prices, and an estimated dispatch date. Log in at any time to review order status.

Prescription Validity

  • Prescriptions must reach the pharmacy through a method that is acceptable for dispensing. Depending on the prescription, this may include an original written prescription presented to the pharmacy, direct transmission from the prescriber by fax, or an authorized electronic method.
  • The pharmacist confirms that the prescriber is legally authorized to prescribe the medicine and verifies the prescriber information when required.
  • Whether a prescription remains usable depends on the medication, the date and instructions on the prescription, the number of authorized refills, and any applicable provincial or federal requirements. The pharmacist will determine whether the existing prescription can still be used or whether updated authorization is needed.
  • Refills are supplied within the authorization available on the prescription or through a pharmacist renewal or adaptation when this is permitted and clinically appropriate. If no further authorization is available, a new prescription may be required.

Refills and Prescription Transfers

A refill request can be started from your personal account when an eligible prescription is already on file. The pharmacy checks the remaining authorization and reviews the medication before the refill is prepared. If no refills remain, the pharmacist will determine what further authorization is required and may discuss the next step with you or your prescriber.

Transferring an existing prescription.

If your prescription is held by another pharmacy, provide the current pharmacy’s name and contact information. The pharmacy team can arrange a pharmacy-to-pharmacy transfer when the prescription is eligible for transfer. Restrictions can vary by medication and by the rules that apply to the prescription, so a transfer request is not considered complete until the receiving pharmacist has confirmed it.

Important Information

  • If you are already signed in to your personal account, select “Confirm order” and follow the order status from your account. New customers must create an account before completing an order.
  • If you choose “Pay by card,” the required amount may first be authorized on the card. The charge is completed according to the pharmacy’s payment process after the order reaches the appropriate stage for processing.
  • If the pharmacy cannot complete the order, the order is cancelled. Any payment that has already been captured is returned to the original payment method, while an uncaptured card authorization is released according to the card issuer’s processing time.
  • A valid email address is required when creating an account. It is used for account verification and password recovery and may also be used for order status updates, electronic receipts, delivery information, and other communications connected with your order.
  • Delivery availability depends on the product type, destination, and requirements that apply to the order. International delivery, where available, is limited to products and destinations the pharmacy is able to serve. Items eligible for home delivery are identified during ordering, and products that cannot be delivered to the selected destination will not be processed as part of the shipment.

Non-Prescription (OTC) Items

Online checkout is available only for non-prescription products that may be offered through e-commerce. In Alberta, medicines classified as Schedule 2 or Schedule 3 are not sold or offered for sale through a standard online shopping cart. Schedule 2 medicines also require an assessment by a pharmacist before sale. These products therefore follow a pharmacy-specific process instead of the ordinary OTC checkout described below.

  1. Browse by Category. Navigate to Pain Relief, Digestive Health, Vitamins, or another section and add eligible items to the cart.
  2. Quantity Review. Verify bottle count or pack size. Some OTC drugs have provincial sales limits; the system blocks quantities that exceed them.
  3. Account Sign-In. Returning customers skip this step if already signed in. New OTC-only customers still need an account for tracking and support.
  4. Payment and Confirmation. Select a payment method, review totals, and finalise the purchase. A confirmation email follows instantly.

Returns and Order Changes

Report shipment errors, visible damage, or possible temperature-related storage problems within 48 hours of delivery. Call +1 403 713 0856 or email orders@canadianpharmacyspot.com with the order number and pictures when possible. Pharmacists will arrange replacement or credit. Opened prescription bottles cannot be returned.

Because medicines require appropriate handling after dispensing, return and refund options depend on the product, the reason for the request, and the condition of the shipment. Do not send medication back to the pharmacy unless the pharmacy team has first provided specific return instructions. Missing parcels, damaged shipments, incorrect items, cancellations, and other order problems are handled under the Returns, Refunds and Order Changes Policy.

Security

Order details, health information, payment information, and other personal data are handled for purposes connected with the pharmacy, order, delivery, and support services requested by the customer. Information is disclosed only when permitted or required for those purposes, and safeguards are used to protect personal and health information in the pharmacy’s custody or control. All employees of our company have received trainings on privacy responsibilities.

The collected information (your name, address, phone number, etc.) could be shared:

  • with relevant healthcare professionals, such as your doctor, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals,
  • to facilitate your request for medical services or products,
  • to manage your request for medical services or products and to provide such services or products,
  • to contact you regarding medical services or products that you have requested,
  • to coordinate prescription verification, order processing, or delivery when another authorized service provider is involved,
  • to keep in touch with you.

More information about how personal and health information is collected, used, disclosed, retained, and protected is available in the Privacy Policy.

Customer Support

Pharmacists are available for counselling Monday to Friday, 8 am-10 pm Mountain Time. Use the phone line, secure message centre inside your account, or nurse chat for non-urgent questions. More information can be found on the contact page.

Questions about a medication, prescription, interaction, dosage instruction, refill, or dispensing decision should be directed to a pharmacist. Customer support can assist with account access, payment questions, order status, and delivery tracking. A nurse chat can provide non-urgent support within its service scope but does not replace the pharmacist’s review of a prescription order.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ordering

Do I need a prescription before ordering a prescription medicine?

A prescription medicine cannot be dispensed until the pharmacy has received an acceptable prescription and the pharmacist has completed the required review. You may begin the online ordering process earlier, but submitting the cart does not replace the prescription requirement.

Can I upload a photo or scan of my prescription?

A photo or scan submitted by the patient may be used only for limited preliminary purposes. It does not serve as the prescription required for dispensing. The pharmacy must receive the prescription through an acceptable method before the pharmacist can assess and fill it.

Can my doctor fax the prescription?

Yes, where fax transmission is permitted for the prescription. The fax must be sent directly from the prescriber to the pharmacy rather than forwarded or faxed by the patient. Your prescriber can use +1 403 708 0374.

What happens if the pharmacist needs more information?

The order remains under review while the missing information is resolved. Depending on the issue, the pharmacist may contact you or the prescriber to confirm prescription details, health information, or another point that must be addressed before dispensing.

Can I refill a prescription already on file?

Eligible refills can be requested through your account. The pharmacy checks the authorization remaining on the prescription before preparing the medication. When no refills remain, the pharmacist will determine whether another form of authorization or a new prescription is necessary.

How do I transfer a prescription from another pharmacy?

Provide the pharmacy team with the name and contact details of the pharmacy currently holding the prescription. The pharmacies can arrange the transfer directly when the medication and prescription are eligible to be transferred.

When will my order be shipped?

Shipping begins after the pharmacy has completed the steps required for the order and the medication is ready for dispatch. The confirmation provides an estimated dispatch date. Carrier delivery time starts after dispatch and should not be confused with prescription review or pharmacy processing time.

What happens if a prescription order cannot be completed?

The medication is not dispatched. The pharmacy will contact you when additional action is possible or required. If the order is cancelled, payment authorization, reversal, or refund is handled according to the payment stage reached before cancellation.

Can every OTC medicine be ordered through the website?

No. Standard online checkout applies only to products that may be sold through e-commerce. Alberta Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 medicines follow different requirements and are not offered for sale through the ordinary online shopping cart.

How can I speak with a pharmacist?

Pharmacists are available Monday to Friday from 8 am to 10 pm Mountain Time. Use the pharmacy phone line or the secure message centre in your account for medication, prescription, refill, or dispensing questions.
